Realign Ya’ Timeline: Who to Follow on Social Media

Cute babies that make your ovaries ache, memes and videos that have you screaming in laughter for 10 minutes, shady gossip, your family members' wild takes, opinions from high school and college acquaintances you don’t really keep up with, the latest from your favorite brands, dope art, beautiful food porn, influencers selling, celebs being celebs, tragedies + trauma, (fake) news and everyone’s favorite—#fitspo.

How conscious of your social media consumption are you? As the co-creator of your life and manager of your account, you ultimately decide what you feed (no pun intended) your mind and soul on the internet. Outside of the man-made algorithms that is, which serve you more of what you’ve already engaged with and the likes. Think about it, you pretty much agreed to take in the images on your timeline by hitting the follow or like button for every single account shown, minus the targeted ads.

But how does the content that makes it to your feed actually make you feel inside? Are you drained after scrolling for longer than you’d prefer? Did you learn anything worth holding on to for a Google search? Is there joy in your heart? Do you appreciate your body’s uniqueness even more? Are you in a better space than when you unconsciously tapped your screen to expand the social app of your choice?

Only you know the true answer, but there’s no reason why your timelines can’t also be a space where you go a lil further, dig a lil deeper, and remind yourself of the work to be done and miracles to witness. As well as just how fuckin dope you are. In fact, I’d argue that it should be, especially if you find yourself aimlessly scrolling for longer periods than you’d like to admit. And because you’ve found yourself here.

Whether you prefer IG’s visual aesthetics, the wordsmithing of Twitter gives you everything you need, you must visit Youtube, or you can only stand to catch-up for a few minutes on Facebook, you can fill your timeline with content that heals and uplifts. Yeah girl, social media can be a space for healing, and there are an abundance of lightworkers who are FOR US sharing the messages we need personally and as a collective to shift our souls and the Universe.

When you’re ready to be even more intentional with your follows, realign your timeline with a few or all of these healers whose messages may speak to your highest and best self:

Need a few more on your TL? Our Lil Black Book has you covered. Remember, you have the power and discipline to curate what you want to consume, and since you’ve decided to join us here, let some of it be content that adequately feeds your soul and fuels your journey.

And if you haven’t checked out The Social Dilemma, add it to your watch-list NEOW.
